Today, due to those decisions she made, she is left existing with no choice to do anything else. Staring the devil in the face daily for as long as she did, left its mark and pain behind for her to live with forever.
The pain of that survival scars her deeper than any physical wound she's ever received.

Breccan Caldwell is everything Harper doesn't deserve. He's gorgeous, successful, caring and a true gentleman.
Can Breccan show Harper who she truly is? Or will he be pushed out by the darkness she allows herself to be consumed with?

MY REVIEW:

Let's just say Jessica for your first book you have knocked it out of the park. This story is so amazing it sucks you in from start to finish you will not be able to put this down with out knowing what is going to happen next.  Harper who is a true survivor with such a dark past which I believe no woman should ever go through in a lifetime let alone such a young age that she did. You will find in the story that her past in broken down thru out the book but it was done so well that you cannot but only feel the darkness that she has.  It does turn around when a family friend helps her and things start looking up for her.  She's living the life she wants with the support of great friends Nikko, Brynne, Avery and her dog Bane.  She is also the owner of a nice classy bar called Ricomincare which means "begin again". Until she meets Breccan who happen to walk into her bar and she feels that her life will get turned upside down.  He is just one hot sexy alpha male that knows what he is doing.  Harper with her dark past doesn't want anything to do with him and tries to blow him off at every attempt he makes to be with her.  The problem is she can't get him out of her head and he can't either.  They have this pull towards each other that neither of them can ignore.

This story will have you going on a roller coster of emotions.  You will also find that harpers story is not the only one that is heartfelt because Breccan has a story of his own as well. The problem is that she doesn't want him to know her past and doesn't want to be in the public eye she has done a lot of work in keeping her dark skeletons away. Breccan being such a public figure can ruin everything if seen with him.  That can bring back the darkness that takes over her from her past.

By the time you finish Darkness Deserved you will say WTF, OMG are you freaking kidding me I want more.  Can we just say "book hang over"

*WARNING, WARNING* ladies the scenes in this story will have you not knowing which way is up or down.  It's that hot your going to need something to cool yourself off with. Just like this one:

"Hard and fast, Brecc. Please” I beg. His mouth quirks up into my sexy half grin and he slowly pulls out almost completely, then slams back into me; giving me exactly what I want. As he always does. “Yes...” I hiss out and throw my head back, gripping his neck to stay upright. His hands slam onto the counter for purchase as he continuously plows into me. My head slowly lolls forward and a wide smile spreads across both our faces. I lean back as his head angles down to pull my nipple into his mouth. He bites down hard and my orgasm begins to take off. He shoves into me faster, racing towards his own finish. “Yes... Fuck yes, Breccan!” I scream out grasping his neck and digging my nails into it as my inner muscles clamp onto his throbbing cock."

Another One of my favorite parts in the book is when Breccan write this letter to Harper if this doesn't get you to fall in love with him I don't know what will:

Sweet Dove,
Your phone is off and I have no way of contacting you other than this. I wish I knew what had happened si
nce this morning but I don’t. I had the best night and morning of my life with you. I swear to you that I will not give up. You can try to hide forever, but it won’t work. You were made for me. I won’t say the words that I know I feel deep in my soul, because I know they will mean little to you. You say that I don’t know you. I know many things about you. I know you have been through something I couldn’t possibly conjure up in my head. I know you don’t deal well with emotions. I know you like to be in control. I know you are a fierce and loyal friend. I know you are a survivor. I know you were made for me. I know you actually do like bacon, but you didn’t want to eat any in front of me. For some reason. I know you changed your name when you were twenty and there is no record of you before that. I know you. I know you Harper Isabelle Reagan. I know your body. You like it rough. You like it hard. You like it sweet and tender. You like it when I hold you. You like to hold me but can’t admit it to yourself. You like everything about me, and I have no doubt you willnever waver from whatever you learn about me. I’m not afraid to know you. Whatever has happened to you will not change my feelings for you. You are mine Harper. You’re my dove. Made just for me. My perfect half that has been missing for far too long. I’ve been searching for you for thirty-four years and didn’t know it.
Please call me. I will not give up on you. Don’t give up on us.
 Forever yours,
Breccan.

MY REVIEW:

Casting as I see it...

Elise (Elle) Halliwell

Braxton (Brax) James

So as luck would have it, I was able to read these books back to back and boy am I grateful for that.  I am not sure I would have survived the wait for book 2 hahahaha!

This book was even better than the first.  Let's be honest (as an author myself), achieving that is hard work.  However, Mrs. Harvey seems to have pulled that off without even batting an eye.  The intensity in this book is strong.  There were many times when I couldn't stop crying or biting my nails.  I swear I have no fingernails left from chewing them off.

Lost for you was so hard to put down.  I read it in a few hours it was that good.  The things that Elle and Brax made it through in book 1 was enough for a person for a lifetime, but it doesn't stop.  No they keep coming, every bad and messed up scenario there is out there is thrown at them over the course of these 2 books.  However, some how in all the horrible stuff going down there are happy times and laughable times.

I have to say that Braxton is major swoonworthy material.  He is attentive, kind, sweet, lovable and damn sexy! He is a perfect match for Elle.  They complete each other and save each other.  You can feel their emotions as if they are you're own.  I love it when an author can pull that off.  BJ Harvey not only pulled it off, but soared with it.  I think that is what made these books so good.  It was the fact that you weren't just watching them, but feeling with them.  It makes the story more life-like and less like something being told to you.

I love the different points of view as well.  They add so much to the story.  The different POV's help you get a full picture of the story.  I love stories that more real life than a story.  It is the reason I love reading and writing.

If the intensity and suspense don't grab your fancy then maybe the hot and steaminess will.  OH boy!  There isn't much else to say about this book other than...

YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!!!!  You must read Lost in Distraction first though. To read my review for Lost in Distraction click here please.

Review for "Lost in Distraction" by BJ Harvey ~PJ~

LOST IN DISTRACTION
BY BJ HARVEY

SYNOPSIS:

In the three years after a horrible crime claimed her family, Elise Halliwell has been alone, shut off from the world in a self-imposed emotional exile. She goes through the motions, finishes high school and moves across country to start college and begin the next step in her pre-destined life.

But her exile is dramatically cut short by the entrance of a dark haired, blue-eyed, smirking man who shakes her to the core, achieving what everyone else before him has failed to do, he makes her feel again.

As much as he wishes it were different, fate has not brought Braxton James into Elise’s life, or has it. Brax has to keep her safe from people in her life who have ulterior motives and may want to hurt her.

Elise has no idea the threat she faces, and Brax wants to make sure it stays that way. But as Brax struggles with getting close to her, he begins to live a lie. Unable to resist the pull that is Elise’s bright green eyes, infectious giggle, and loving heart, he finds it impossible to stay away, so the double life of being Elise’s boyfriend and keeping her safe begins.

Full of twists and turns, danger and revelations that no-one could predict, you won’t be the only one lost in distraction.

MY REVIEW:

Okay so I have been eager to read this book for a while.  Sadly there is just not enough hours in the day to do all the thing I need to do all the time.  However, I am super glad that I had the time to read this book.  This book was simply amazing.  Okay so as per my usual review, here is the way I pictured Brax and Elle.

Elise (Elle) Halliwell
Elle is trying desperately to move past her family's death and piece her life back together.  She moves far away to go to college in order to take over her dad's business.  Little Elle know that moving away to start over was really going to be the change she never saw coming.

Braxton (Brax) James
Brax took a job to keep a girl safe.  He took the job because the photo of the girl needing protecting caught his attention.  He knew in the first moment of meeting her in person that he would never be the same.  What he didn't expect was how much everything would changed.

Okay so now that you met Brax and Elle as I see them, let's move on to the review shall we?

I had followed the teasers and talk about this book for a while.  This can be a good or bad thing.  You can sometimes fall across teasers that highlight the only good parts of the book and leave the readers saying "What the hell?"  Thankfully that is not the case with this book.  BJ Harvey has done and excellent job of maintaining the readers attention throughout the whole book.

I have talked back and forth with BJ a bit and will tell you when I finished the book my message to her made her laugh.

"Right now all I have to say is I'm glad that I have the second book right now or you'd be getting an ear full LMAO!!!!"

I am trying very hard to not scream and shout at how the book ended, right now.  When I write reviews I never want to give away anything in the book, so I tread lightly to not expose any of the twists and turns throughout.

I will say that in the end my heart was breaking and racing all at the same time.  It is obvious now why she called the series "Lost" because that is exactly how you feel when you finish this book.  Not in a bad way.  You are lost for words, lost for breath, lost for an ending that has yet to happen.  (Nicely played BJ Harvey, nicely played. Ha!)

Elle has completely shut herself off from the world.  The world she has known and loved for half her life gone in a split second.  She may not have physically died with them, but emotionally she was nothing more than a shell walking the earth, going through the motions.

Brax was the same way.  He worked and had some downtime with his best friend Shay, but not much of anything outside of that.  However the one thing he never expected was the job to change him like it did.

The journey the pair go on is made for the movies.  Brax is so damn swoonworthy that there really isn't a way to describe him.  He battles with his conscience throughout the book only to have it cost him HUGE in the end.  How did it cost him?  Well I suppose you will need to read the book to find out.

The chemistry between Brax and Elle is practically popping from the book.  Ms. Harvey knew what she was doing when she wrote out this book.  I expect nothing less of the second book.

I'm sure you're wondering where all the snippets are for the book.  Here's the thing, everything I would want to post on here would give things away and frankly I'm not that kind of person to do that sooooooooooo, if it means no snippets...No snippets.

If you haven't read this book you need to!  It truly is an engaging read and you won't be sorry you read it.  Ms. Harvey, I want to tell you what an amazing job you have done on this book (and I am sure book 2 as well).  I had expectations going in and you blew them out of the water.  I am truly glad to have the honor of participating in your tour for book 2.  Bright future ahead of you my dear.

Okay now I'm done writing this review.  I have already taken too much time before getting into book 2 and I have sssoooooo many questions that need answered.  So I will leave you with this final statement...

READ THIS DAMN BOOK!!!!  YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE MISSING!!!

Watch for my review of "Lost for You" on the 25th!...

As old wounds are opened again and new ones rock her world, Emma feels that maybe she is being punish for things she has done in her past and secrets she has been carrying for five years.
Can she find happiness again and does the key to her future happiness lie in her past.

My Review:

There are many things in life that could happen in a single minute and we can’t stop or prevent them.  There are just things we don’t have control over.  It is a fact of life.  Loved ones will not always be there.  We will not always be around, but that is the reason to make every second count.
As I read this book I was immediately taken to that thought.  It is no secret how HUGE of a fan I am of Beverley Hollowed’s.  I have read all her books and will continue to read them in the future.  This book however is by far my favorite.  It is a tear jerker and heart string puller.
Before I get too far into it, let’s meet the cast shall we?

Emma was caught in a nightmare.  Her whole world was ripped out from under her feet for a second time.  For a second time, she was forced to try and pick up the pieces.

Jonathan loved Emma with everything that he was.  He vowed to make her happy for the rest of his life.  He just didn’t know that his time with Emma would be so short.

Zach loved Emma from the minute he laid eyes on her as she sang in a bar he worked at part-time.  He wanted a life with Emma, there was no one else for him.

This story was an emotional rollercoaster and it was almost impossible for me to put down.  I had to, but I couldn’t quit thinking about it and wanted to know what was going to happen next.  I think I had every emotion from the Anger to Sadness.

I loved Zach right away.  Emma was lost and confused in the beginning, but she found her balance.  The problem was it wasn’t in where she thought she would find it.  I loved the chemistry between Zach and Emma.  Jonathan seemed to be a great guy and devoted to Emma, but he wasn’t in the book long enough to get a good picture of who he was.
My stomach was either dropping, flipping, or in knots.  My heart soared, dropped, and at points even stopped.  My eyes didn’t stay dry.  To have lost what Emma loses in such a short time…Wow!  But then there is Zach and he just makes you scream to save her, to help her…to do something….Ugh!  The whole book was just an intense read!

To Mrs. Beverley Hollowed, the amount of words flying around in my head right now for your book is overwhelming.  I honestly didn’t think you could top Cole, but you did.  Zach was beyond worthy of swooning over.  I loved him from the minute he entered the book.  You are beyond talented.  With every word, my heart raced and my mind drew further and further into the story.  I forgot the world around me and was immersed only in your book.  I am truly honored to have read this book and had the opportunity to be one of the first to review it.  Keep stories coming like this and there will be no stopping you.  Simply amazing!

This book is a definite and must read!

"Taming Johnny" by Kaylie Newell Review by PJ

TAMING JOHNNY
BY KAYLIE NEWELL

SYNOPSIS:
He's got the temperament of a lion, and she's just the one to tame him.

Police records clerk Emma Beaumont has always played it safe, never taking many risks. Quiet, shy, and a little overweight, she's convinced herself that she's comfortable with the way her life is. That is until she lays eyes on incredibly sexy Lieutenant Johnny Street. But she's never met anyone with such a terrible attitude. He's a jerk. Everyone thinks so.

Little by little, Emma is forced to uncover a stronger, spunkier part of herself, one that isn't afraid to stand up to him. As she gets to know him, she starts seeing glimpses of a very different man. A man who has known great heartache, and as it turns out, has good reason for embracing such bitterness. Behind his sharp tongue and harsh demeanor, lies a young man who's desperately afraid of losing what's left of himself.

As Emma's intense desire for Johnny turns to love, she will have to ask herself how far she'll go to chip away at his frosty heart. And at what cost.

MY REVIEW:
It is no surprise that I am Kaylie Newell’s biggest fan.  Her writing style is amazing and she has a real gift for pulling you into a story and keeping you there.  I have found every single one of her books wonderful.  “Taming Johnny” was no different and I am so beyond thrilled that Mrs. Newell considered me when sending out her Arcs. So without further due, let’s see the cast on how I pictured them.
Meet Johnny Street:

Lt. Johnny Street has been through a lot in his life.  He’s lost even more.  Because of all this, he has built up a tough as nails exterior to keep everyone at bay.  It had never been a problem for him until he met her…

Meet Emma Beaumont…

She spent about a year trying to impress the one guy that no one took a second to get to know.  She felt there was more to him than met the eye and was determined to find it.  Even as Johnny ripped into her and treated her like trash, she kept trying.  No matter the cost to her…

This book took you on a roller coaster ride.  You felt for Emma when Street would lash out and you felt for Street as Emma let everything he said hit home.  You pull for the two of them in the beginning.
I would love to see more of Jake or Eli (even though you didn’t meet Eli much).  You just like them right away.
I can’t even begin to describe the feelings this book invoked.  The buildup was amazing and the chemistry between Emma and Johnny was amazing!  Just as I felt in her other books, you are pulled into the story and you can’t stop until you find out what happens.
Mrs. Newell, I cannot tell you enough how big of a fan I am of your work.  This story (and the others before) was simply perfect.  You created characters that I was unable to do anything else but love them…even when one is a complete asshole sometimes and I wanted to reach between the words and strangle them until their head was on straight.  Thank you so much for the honor and privilege to have read this.
Johnny hurt beyond belief and Emma who liked Johnny right away embark on a journey of not only self-discovery, but life altering.  Things heat up and they shoot right into scorching and then cool off like ice.  The back and forth drove Emma nuts, but she just couldn’t help herself.  He couldn’t help himself either.  She drove him crazy.

Pick this book up and follow Johnny and Emma on their journey.
A MUST and DEFINITE read!!!!!

Double Review for "Love Thy Neighbor" by Belle Aurora ~PJ and Kia~

Love Thy Neighbor

By Belle Aurora

Synopsis:
Asher 'Ghost' Collins and Natalie Kovac shared a passionate night together. One neither of them can forget.

So why is it so hard for them to be around each other?

With no hope of the two getting along they decide to go their separate ways. And somehow end up closer than they've ever been.

Will friendship ever be enough for the pair?

The Review
Okay for “Love Thy Neighbor”, we are doing a little something different for the review.  Usually it is just one of us writing out a review for each book, but this particular book two of us read at the same time and we are combining our reviews.  This should be rather interesting hehehehe.

~PJ~:

This is the second book in the “Friend-Zoned” series by Belle Aurora and she did not disappoint.  Belle had you laughing, tearing up, screaming and anticipating.  “Love Thy Neighbor” is Nat and Ghost’s story.  I have been dying to read about Ghost and OMG!!!!  She broke my heart with him in some areas.

~Kia~:

OMG. Oh. My. Fecking. God. Belle you did it again with friend zone 2 (love thy neighbor).  This is a must read if you don't buy this book you are missing out.

How we see Ghost and Nat:

Nat:

Kia’s pick

PJ’s pick

Asher “Ghost”:
Kia’s pick

PJ’s pick

~PJ~:
When I opened up with book to start reading, I had a level of greatness I had in mind for author Belle Aurora to measure up to.  She did not disappoint me.  “Friend-Zoned” was hilarious and touching and just simply a GREAT read!  I expected nothing less with the second book.  She not only gave a better story but even hotter (I know hard to believe but it was :P).  Ghost and Nat’s story could be read on its own, but Nik and Tina’s story continue in this book as well.  However if you haven’t read “Friend-Zoned”, I have to say you are crazy!  READ IT!!!  You can fall in love with Ghost before reading about him in “Love Thy Neighbor”… To say that Asher “Ghost” and Natalie “Nat” relationship is strained at best would be an understatement.  They have a hot moment and neither know how to proceed because each think the other is not interested.  Then a guy a named Cole comes along as Nat decides to try and get Ghost out of her system.  However there is more than meets the eye with Cole.  Paper thin walls lead to awkward moments and eventually an agreement that sets their ‘friendship’ on a new axle.
Natalie is strong, independent, and feisty to say the least.  She has no problem stating what’s on her mind and standing up for those that she loves.  However, when it comes to herself, she just prefers to keep quiet and never let anyone see her weak.
Asher “Ghost, Ash, Casper” is reserved to say the least.  He talks little, but sees everything.  He has a past and struggles to live with it every day.  He promised to keep all at bay and never get attached to anyone.  Then a sassy and strong woman comes into his world and begins to change things.
Their journey from current to future is rough and hard, but honest you expect no less than with them.  They didn’t get their demeanors because everything has been perfect for them.  I will say I was SHOCKED by what Ghost held close to his chest.  Actually I was floored and my heart broke for him.
It is a wild and unforgettable ride.  I look forward to seeing more of them in the future books and more importantly the rest of the crew.  (Side note: I loved seeing what life was like for Nik and Tina! *sigh*)

~Kia~:

Now just so you know if you didn't read Friend Zoned 1 I would highly recommend you do.  she explains things over in the beginning of the book which I thought was awesome for reader who might not have read the frist book.  If you didn't read the first book you must be from another planet because that was as hot as this one and your missing out.  Belle pulls you in with her characters and makes you understand them and feel you are there with them. I love that in Love Thy Neighbor all the characters from book one are there and funnier than ever. Ghost and Nat have a complicated friendship if you can even say that. It's one of those love hate friendships which seems like more hate then love for each other most of the time.  In book one they kinda had a HOT and steamy one night stand which in book two is now about a year later and they both can’t stop thinking about that one night they had together.  You will also meet someone new Cole he's hot as all get out, but what he does, well I'll let you be the judge of that.
Let’s begin with Nat.  She is one sassy, feisty, loving and a total bitch when she wants to be.   you will so hate her but love her at the same time.  She knows how to make your blood boil especially Ghost but you still have to give her credit when credit is do.  Nat is a friend that you want by your side no matter what.

Asher A.K.A. Ghost.  Hollysh*t balls he's hot.  I was swooning the whole time reading this.  Yes he has flaws, he doesn't understand certain things but my god he tries.  So there is nothing you can do but fall in love with him.

Anyway back to Ghost yes Ash, Asher, Casper I don't care what he is called he's HOT. I wanted to know about him since FZ1 because I really didn't take to him and now just love him.  You get such a better understanding of him in this book and can I say hearing his story broke my heart.  You will understand him and feel what he went through to get to where he is today and why he acts the way he does.  You also learn more about Nat and why she acts the way she does towards Ghost and learn about her back ground and how she was brought up.  You also get to meet Nats family which was awesome because her sisters are just as crazy and funny as her.

In a nut shell just go get the book it's hard to say without giving away spoilers to you but this is one of the most awesome books that I have read this year. Defiantly on my top 5 books of the year so far. Believe me there were times I was cursing at both Nat and Ghost laughing with them and crying with them.  This book puts you on an emotional roller coaster that will have you in shock by the time it's over.  So enjoy the fecking ride and go get the book.

SNIPPETS:

"I get a total lady boner.  My lady bits are way too happy. So happy it crying juicy tears" ~Nat

"The thing is, nothing I did got this girl out of my head.  She became an obsession"~Ghost

"Holy sh*tballs, I need to pee"~Nat

"Pretty girl, please tell me you haven't been sitting at the booth all night without panties on" ~Ghost
