BLOG TOUR STOP "How to catch Butterflies" by Samantha Fontien

Today, Miles Apart Books was lucky enough to have Samantha Fontien, Rebecca, Jason, and Jackson stop by for an interview and what an interview it was.  Review will follow the interview and a giveaway.  Enjoy your dose of Jason and Jackson.

Hello Everyone!  Thanks for coming. Please, please have a seat. Oh, no.  Jason, hun, your seat is right here. *Pats chair next to me.*
How is everyone?
Group: Hello
Thank you Samantha Fontien for getting everyone together for this.  I’m sure it wasn’t easy getting these three in one room together.
Yes, it’s a little overwhelming being with these two lovely chaps.
Hi Rebecca, how are you doing?
Hi, PJ, ….I’m great thanks, (leans into PJ and whispers) I’m a little shocked you have these two in the same room.
I am a little shocked Ms. Fontien pulled it off and that you came.  Must feel like being in the middle of a sandwhich, no?
 Hahahahaha *Looking embarrassed*
Hey Jason. *bats eyes* How are you doing? *leans in listening intently*
*Jason smiles at me*  I’m good thank you PJ
Hello Jackson…*evil glare* Thanks for joining us.
*no response just continued to look at me*
So, Ms. Fontien.  I read their story as you can tell and my first comment to you is “ARE YOU FREAKING CRAZY!” *crosses arms and stares*
Just a little hehehe
*reaches over and put hand on Jason’s leg*  I choose Jason.  Can I keep him?  *Looks at Jason*
Jason, you know if you just want to give up on the hunt you can come to me.  I will make you very happy indeed. *lowers voice* very happy.  *winks and turns back to Ms. Fontien*
Ms. Fontien, when you started out on the journey to tell Rebecca’s story did you have a set destination to end it?  If so did that destination change as you wrote it?
Yes, I do have an ending, well a HEA for Rebecca, and I know where that will be nothing has changed from that. I can tell you Rebecca’s will be in Venice.
I love the play with the songs giving the feel of the chapter.  Their emotion.  If one song could sum up how you feel right now with your first release what would it be and why?
Hmmm, that’s a good one PJ. There are a few songs that I love and this is my first book, my  first launch and  with all the Bullying/Author Bashing that’s happening to Authors I feel like I’m charging into battle, so I’m going with ‘Tempole Tudors’ Swords of a thousand men, I think is adapt for this occasion.
I completely understand the bullying thing.  My oldest son is autistic and is tormented regularly at school because of it.  But it doesn’t just stop there, sadly.  Cyber bullying has become just as big of a problem as the rest if not more so.  I have watched a few very talented writers walk away from it because of the bashing they receive.  There is enough room for all of us to stand next to each other and cheer on the sidelines.  Sorry off on my soapbox again…Let’s get back to the interview.
This is your first book and what a way to start it out.  Are any of the events based on actual events?
Yes I’m afraid so, all of it including chapters 1 & 2.  At first I didn’t want to glorify the events, but they are part of me as much as the other chapters. I wanted people to release there is life if you choose it. It’s hard, but anything can happen if you find the strength to do it and you're never alone, even when you think you're the only person in the world it’s happening to. And talk about it, it’s NOT a dirty secret. It’s something that happens to you, it’s NOT caused by you.
If you could go back in time and talk to the Rebecca then, what would you say to her?
Hmmm, great question PJ. I would say, keep strong, hold your head up high; you have nothing to be ashamed of. I grew up with domestic violence in my own home. It was something I wasn’t prepared to have in my own adult life that I had made for myself.
Rebecca, I cannot tell you how sorry I am that you endured what you endured.  How were you able to push forward?
Yes, thank you PJ. I was lucky to have Lucy. She helped me rebuild my life, OMG and my confidence. Without her, I don’t think I would have bounced back so quickly. I had to learn the dating thing all over again. Hahaha, that was fun.
There were so particularly scary moments between you and David.  Did the thought of not making it every cross your mind?
Ohhh Goodness yes. David, the thought of David just makes me feel sick to my stomach. See look at my hand, it’s shaking, but I feel like that every time I think I see him or even when I hear his name.
Okay now my important question.  Are you almost done keeping Jason’s attention?  If so can I have him?
Hmmm, No comment. (as Rebecca shifts uncomfortably in her seat)
Jackson…Uh, Jackson How are you doing?
I’m fine thank you P.J, And you ?
Why Rebecca?  What drew you to her?  Was it the challenge of the chase?
(Jackson looks over at Rebecca, before looking back at PJ ) At first,if I’m being honest, she was a sexy voice at the other end of the phone, that I spoke to for what 3 years ?( Jackson looks over at Rebecca, who nods her head in agreement). However, that quickly changed when I met her. She’s a pretty amazing woman.. And what man doesn't like a challenge. (Jackson gives PJ a playful wink)
You’re a good guy.  I’m sure Jackson, but just *looks at Jason*….*sigh*
To each their own PJ, to each their own. (Jackson laughs looking over at Rebecca)
Okay plead your case Jackson.  Why should the reader be on your side?
Hmmm Ohh God, I wasn’t expecting this question, Emm I would say, Don’t jump to conclusions, everything is not how it seems. There are gentlemen and nice guys out there. I do admit I was a bit of a cad before Rebecca. But that was before Rebecca.
Great answer…  *sigh*
*scoots chair closer to Jason*  If you can forget about Rebecca, you and I can have a go. I mean you are every girls dream man; compassionate, loving, loyal, sexy as sin… *shakes head*  Why Rebecca?  Why not someone like ohhhh I don’t know…me?
Hahaha. What’s NOT to like about Rebecca ?
Okay plead your case Jason.  Why should the reader be on your side?
I’m not scared to say I love Rebecca. I do, I’ve loved her for years. But I’m sure she knows this.
*sigh*
Ms. Fontien, I really enjoyed Rebecca’s story so far.  Will her story end in the next book?
LOL I can’t really say.
Will Lucy be getting her own story or just filtered in Rebecca’s?
Lucy is a very strong character. My intention was to tell her story in the second book, but as you read, it didn’t work out like that. But there is a book two. And I’m already on chapter 4 lol. Lucy’s so strong though, I’m sure she’ll push herself forward, as she is a bit of a minx, with her own story to tell. She’s not one to stand in the shadows. I think she’s being a good friend and letting Rebecca shine. Possibly when Rebecca’s happy she’ll step up, who knows.
Well it seems that we will all be waiting on pin in needles for the next book as we were with the first.  Is there anything else going on in that crazy twisted head of yours that you might want to share?
Errr no let’s just say I’m on chapter 4 and it picks up immediately and I mean Immediately in book 2 from where I left off.
Okay well before I let you all go.  I have a rapid fire question round.

There are many things that go on in my life in a given day, but I received an email that literally made me scream in delight.  Receiving this book was beyond a thrilling moment.  I have been waiting to read this for a while.  How to Catch Butterflies was sitting there in my email…calling my name.  I opened it and didn’t close it until I was finished.
OMG!!
So before I get into the review I want to introduce you to the guys fighting for Rebecca’s attention.  Jason (whom I love) and Jackson (whose okay I guess LMAO!)

Jason Hollow.

I fell in love with him right away!  He is completely lovable and you long for Rebecca to pick him.  (In fact there were parts I SCREAMED it at my computer!)

Jackson Harvey.
Jackson is just *sigh* I don’t know.  I hated him in the beginning, but seeing how even though he was a man whore he truly did care about Rebecca.  I just LOVE  Jason!  However I will say he started to grow on me.  He may not be a total wash out which only means the decision on who Rebecca belongs with the most…which saddens me because I really love Jason LMAO!!!!!

My Review

Okay my review, here’s the thing.  This book has many different POV’s (Point of Views), but honestly as intimidating as they might have been the story was better because of them.  The characters were so strong and very well developed you got the idea of where you were and who you were with.  You got inside of each of their heads, but the main POV’s were Rebecca, Lucy, Jason, and Jackson.  The story was strong and the bonds were even stronger.  There was no way this story would be the same and as engaging if there were less POV’s.  It flowed so seamlessly that you don’t really even pay attention to how many POV’s but more to the point of what was happening and where were you going.
Rebecca Keane
She is in an unfortunate and heartbreaking situation and you immediately feel for her and bond at the strength she bounces back with to take hold of her life after it all comes to a terrible and traumatic end.  She stumbles and falls and soon finds out that there is more to life than what David had wanted her to have or to be.  I personally LOVED Rebecca (not all her decisions, but I loved her!)!!

Lucy Watters
She is Rebecca’s best friend and she was the one there to help her the fateful night when Rebecca’s life shattered like all the things in her apartment.  Lucy has her own story going on during all this as well and I love Lucy too!  These two are TOTALLY down to earth could be one of your good friends type of people.

So there’s the ‘choose me’ scenario here.  Jason or Jackson.  I personally love Jason and think it’s where she belongs.  I hated Jackson the minute he entered the scene, BUT I can say that I did grow to LIKE him…Not love him.  I felt bad for him toward the end.  Yup I actually felt for Jackson, taking the attention away from my dear Jason, Harvey.
This story is about Rebecca discovering not only herself, but her strength.  For so long in her relationship with David, she was put on the back burner she was last and rarely ever considered in to the mix.  When her world shattered for the first time in a long time, Rebecca was first.  What she wanted and needed….it was about her and where she wanted to go.
This story is heart breaking and heart racing.  The HEAT in this book was fan worthy!  No, it’s sit in the freezer while you read those parts worthy.  Wow!

I cannot wait to read more books from Mrs. Fontien!!!!  The way this story flowed caught you in the beginning and kept you there…let you breath for a second and then pulled back in again.  I cannot be happier with my experience reading this book.

To Mrs. Fontien, for this being your first book…I am completely amazed at how strong and detailed and fulfilling your book truly was.  For someone that has never left the United States, I could picture everything you were describing the scenery the buildings everything.  That my dear shows how much talent you have in bringing the reader into the story.  I was there stuck and changing my point of view with each point of view change (LMAO!! That sounds funny)I am not sure what more I can say other than…Please bring on more!  I NEED more.  I thank you for allowing me the honor to read this!

AUTHOR INTERVIEW WITH MISSY JOHNSON!!!

1. When did you start writing?
I started writing novels when I was in my early teens. I always either had my head in a
book, or plotting out a story, and years later not much has changed!
2. What inspired you to start writing?
I've always loved reading because I can completely immerse myself in another world. I find getting inside
a characters head to be such an amazing thing that I wanted to create that for my readers. Writing is something
I do to relax, and if I'm not writing, there is a good chance I'm thinking about writing.
4. Is anything in this book based on actual events?
No, but there is aspects of people I know and my surroundings in the book. I've had readers ask me if
I'm a twin myself, and no, I'm not :)
5. What message do you hope your readers get from reading your book?
I want my readers to experience every emotion through the eyes of my characters, from pain and loss to the
joy you feel when you meet that person that makes your heart race. I guess the message I'm trying to get across
is life is always changing, you never know what might happen next.

Rapid fire question round:

1. Favorite band? The Beards
2. Favorite song? Real Love, by Regina Spector
3. Favorite fruit? Strawberry
4. Favorite movie? Pretty Woman
5. Favorite author? Paullina Simons

7. Last book read? Allure, by Nina Lane
8. Next book on your TBR list? The Sea of Tranquility has been on my list for a while, so that will be next
9. Favorite color? Blue
10. Favorite line from Inseparable?

“I want to show you something,” he smiled, then laughed at my wicked grin, “Not that, you dirty girl. Well, I do want to show you that, but that’s not what I meant,” he muttered. I giggled as he fumbled his words. If only he knew how much I was looking forward to seeing that.

1. What is next on the list for you? I'm currently working on the sequel to 'So Many Reasons Why'.
2. Will you be continuing the story for any of the characters in this book? Yes, Steffy will be getting her own story.

Inseparable

By Missy Johnson

The Synopsis/Blurb:
Nineteen year old Lily is still struggling with the death of her identical twin, Abby, a year earlier when she moves away from home for college.
Following Abby’s death, Lily spent time in a psych facility after she was still seeing, hearing and speaking to Abby as though she was still alive. Now, ready to begin college, Abby only shows up in her dreams.

A chance encounter with Dane Hansen changes Lily’s life. Lily’s friends warn her off becoming involved with Dane. He’s bad news, according to the rumors, anyway..

Now, he’s back, nearly a year after he disappeared off the face of the earth weeks into his freshman year at college. But Dane is far from the popular, womanizing, athlete he once was.

Dane has experienced loss himself, after his six year old sister was abducted and murdered nearly ten years ago. He understands Lily, and the more time he spends with her, the harder he falls.

There is something he hasn’t told her though, something almost nobody knows, and it’s something that might stop Lily from feeling the same way.

My Review:

One thing I love about reading is the different tales you can immerse yourself in.  No one book is ever the same.  Some may contain the same concept as others, but be completely different.  No trip is ever the same as the last.  I just love losing myself in a good book.  Even more to the point, I love losing myself in a book that is hard to put down and read until your eyes can’t stay open any longer then wake up and immediately finish what you were reading because all night you dreamt about what was going to happen next.
Okay maybe that is just me, but that is what happened when I read Inseparable by Missy Johnson.  I honestly had no clue what I was getting into when I opened the Arc I received and honestly am truly glad I read it.
Let’s meet the characters shall we…..well my idea of what they looked like anyway hahahahaha.

Meet Lily……..

She is nineteen years old and trying to move past the death of her identical twin to cancer a year earlier.  Starting college had always been something she expected to do with her sister, but that wasn’t the way it was happening…well not exactly the way she planned anyway…

Meet Dane…..

(Hot right?!)
There is a lot of mystery around this man.  He should be a junior this year, but because of taking a year off school he didn’t meet the required credits to be a junior.  He WAS your typical athletic guy with a new girl on his arm as much as possible, until he took that year off suddenly.

Dane and Lily meet by chance as she is registering for school.  She is lost in checking him out when he suddenly steps back stepping on her.

I will admit to it being a slow start due to the back story, but it was so well worth the read.  You fall immediately in love with Dane. (At least I did) and you feel so terrible for both of them.  The one thing they share is so unimaginable, but the journey they travel together is like nothing you can imagine.

“You’ve got soft hands,” He chuckled, “I believe you that you’re a nut, but maybe I like nuts.”
He likes nuts? I giggle as his face went red.
“Not what I meant, Lily,”…

This had to be one of the funniest parts for me.  Their first date with nerves screaming LOL I found myself laughing.

OVERALL:
This is a heart-wrenching story about finding love and what was lost in another.  It truly was a great book.  I look forward to reading more from Ms. Johnson in the future. I am honored to have had this chance to be a part of her journey.
You need to read this book!

Review for Thursday Nights by Lisa N. Paul (~PJ~)

Thursday Nights
by Lisa N. Paul

The Synopsis:

Pain can leave even the strongest of people weak and hollow. But when fate brings two weak souls together, will the love they find mend the fragments that are barely holding them together, or will the weight of their past finally cause them to crumble?

Max DeLucca has spent seven years trying to forget the betrayal of his past. He lives his life from day to day never looking forward and never looking back. The walls around his heart keep anyone from getting too close and prevent him from feeling too much…until he meets her.

Her entire life, Janie Silver searched for the kind of love that wouldn’t leave her broken and more importantly, wouldn't leave her behind. She longs for a love that can heal the wounds of her past and give her the future she knows she deserves. She thought she was looking for something that just didn’t exist…until she meets him.

Danny’s on Main is where their story begins. A neighborhood bar where strangers become friends, friends become family and some … become lovers
… it all started on Thursday Nights

My Review:

Okay so things in my world are so crazy busy and I tend to miss new releases and my one clicking is now being monitored.  LOL Hubby says I am spending our kids' college funds.  HA! Anyway, this is what happened when "Thursday Nights" was released.  Truly I am sorry I didn't read this when it was released.

The story that Ms. Paul brings you in on is just wow.  You immediately love Max in the Prologue alone!  The journey to self-discovery has never been hotter!  Max is commanding right away and Janie...Janie is so damn likable, you hate yourself for wishing Max was with you. LMAO!!!

Okay so let's meet the hero and heroine as I seen them.....

Meet Max DeLucca........

(Okay so you will have to put green eyes on him but totally how I saw Max!)
Max is damaged and destroy and he clings to the past.  He lets no one close and yet he can't seem to push one someone away.

Meet Janie Silver.....

Janie grew up without love.  She was abandoned by the very people who should have protected her.  Yet here she is searching for love and all arrows point to him....

So the book carries more than just Max and Janie's story, but it is the single focus.  They have a small group that they call their family.

This story pulls you in in the beginning and refuses to let you go until the end and even then you want more.  (Waiting for book 2!!!!)

Max wants Janie instantly, but because of his past he doesn't want to have her.  There chemistry between the two is strong, but what I love about the book the most is that the connections with all the characters involved are amazing.  You can feel their loyalty, their love for each other.  I love when I can feel like the best friend to the main character is my best friend too.

Connecting with the characters in a book is so important to me when I read.  I read for an escape and I can't escape if I can't connect.  Did I ever!!!

It was hard to handle watching them both suffer because of their inability to let go of the past and embrace their present; future.  This story will take you on a roller coaster of emotions!  From tears to laughter to anger.

"Janie, I love to hear the sounds you make.  Knowing I'm the only man to ever get the real thing...God, you have no idea what that does to me." ~Max~

"Sorry I was thinking about Dick.  The person not the body part." ~Lyla~

Just to give you a taste of some of the moments in there.  I loved Lyla!!  She cracked me up.  I can't wait for her story.  I have a feeling an inky black haired man is going to rock her world!

This book was just amazing from start to finish!  I stayed up until WELL after 6am this morning reading before my eyes won the battle.  This book is DEFINITELY worth the read and any money paid for it!  I am anxiously awaiting the next book!  Thank you Ms. Paul for the amazing journey you allowed me to travel.  I cannot tell you enough how perfectly crafted the story was and the flow was AMAZING.  The different POVs were amazing!  Thank you for an amazing book and escape!

A MUST READ BOOK!!!
