AUTHOR INTERVIEW WITH MISSY JOHNSON!!!

1. When did you start writing?
I started writing novels when I was in my early teens. I always either had my head in a
book, or plotting out a story, and years later not much has changed!
2. What inspired you to start writing?
I've always loved reading because I can completely immerse myself in another world. I find getting inside
a characters head to be such an amazing thing that I wanted to create that for my readers. Writing is something
I do to relax, and if I'm not writing, there is a good chance I'm thinking about writing.
4. Is anything in this book based on actual events?
No, but there is aspects of people I know and my surroundings in the book. I've had readers ask me if
I'm a twin myself, and no, I'm not :)
5. What message do you hope your readers get from reading your book?
I want my readers to experience every emotion through the eyes of my characters, from pain and loss to the
joy you feel when you meet that person that makes your heart race. I guess the message I'm trying to get across
is life is always changing, you never know what might happen next.

Inseparable

By Missy Johnson

The Synopsis/Blurb:
Nineteen year old Lily is still struggling with the death of her identical twin, Abby, a year earlier when she moves away from home for college.
Following Abby’s death, Lily spent time in a psych facility after she was still seeing, hearing and speaking to Abby as though she was still alive. Now, ready to begin college, Abby only shows up in her dreams.

A chance encounter with Dane Hansen changes Lily’s life. Lily’s friends warn her off becoming involved with Dane. He’s bad news, according to the rumors, anyway..

Now, he’s back, nearly a year after he disappeared off the face of the earth weeks into his freshman year at college. But Dane is far from the popular, womanizing, athlete he once was.

Dane has experienced loss himself, after his six year old sister was abducted and murdered nearly ten years ago. He understands Lily, and the more time he spends with her, the harder he falls.

There is something he hasn’t told her though, something almost nobody knows, and it’s something that might stop Lily from feeling the same way.

My Review:

One thing I love about reading is the different tales you can immerse yourself in.  No one book is ever the same.  Some may contain the same concept as others, but be completely different.  No trip is ever the same as the last.  I just love losing myself in a good book.  Even more to the point, I love losing myself in a book that is hard to put down and read until your eyes can’t stay open any longer then wake up and immediately finish what you were reading because all night you dreamt about what was going to happen next.
Okay maybe that is just me, but that is what happened when I read Inseparable by Missy Johnson.  I honestly had no clue what I was getting into when I opened the Arc I received and honestly am truly glad I read it.
Let’s meet the characters shall we…..well my idea of what they looked like anyway hahahahaha.

Meet Lily……..

She is nineteen years old and trying to move past the death of her identical twin to cancer a year earlier.  Starting college had always been something she expected to do with her sister, but that wasn’t the way it was happening…well not exactly the way she planned anyway…

Meet Dane…..

(Hot right?!)
There is a lot of mystery around this man.  He should be a junior this year, but because of taking a year off school he didn’t meet the required credits to be a junior.  He WAS your typical athletic guy with a new girl on his arm as much as possible, until he took that year off suddenly.

Dane and Lily meet by chance as she is registering for school.  She is lost in checking him out when he suddenly steps back stepping on her.

I will admit to it being a slow start due to the back story, but it was so well worth the read.  You fall immediately in love with Dane. (At least I did) and you feel so terrible for both of them.  The one thing they share is so unimaginable, but the journey they travel together is like nothing you can imagine.

“You’ve got soft hands,” He chuckled, “I believe you that you’re a nut, but maybe I like nuts.”
He likes nuts? I giggle as his face went red.
“Not what I meant, Lily,”…

This had to be one of the funniest parts for me.  Their first date with nerves screaming LOL I found myself laughing.

OVERALL:
This is a heart-wrenching story about finding love and what was lost in another.  It truly was a great book.  I look forward to reading more from Ms. Johnson in the future. I am honored to have had this chance to be a part of her journey.
