Here I am having finished yet another book by BJ Harvey and I FREAKING loved it! She has knocked it out of the freaking parking lot with this one. It is hotter than the last two, BUT the story is so engaging and it pulls you so strongly that when it ends you're left going... awwww it's over. 
Sean can speak everything with just his eyes. His eyes are the voice that have many cowering at his feet. He is a force to be reckoned with and balks or bows to no one at any time. But everyone has a weakness... His comes in the form of a woman. A woman he calls Sammy.
Samantha is known around the police station as the "Ice Queen". She owns the title, but when her past suddenly crosses path with her present sends Samantha to her friends with liquor in hand. But more importantly, she views him as her one mistake.  Will Sean be able to thaw the "Ice Queen's" heart? Or will she lock up tighter than ever before and run away?

The heat between Sam and Sean when they meet again after so many years is intense. It throws both the characters and the reader for a loop. LOL. You seriously connect that well with Sam and Sean. Sean may like his control and may call himself a Dom, but there is one person in his life that has been the only one to hold him. That's his Sammy. 
But how far can he put himself out there before he runs the risk of losing it all again?

This book was so amazing. The push pull between the characters was amazing. Oh and need I say I found a soft spot for Sean's brother Ryan. I'd really love to see more from him even if it's a novella or something. He needs a good woman to settle him. To control him hahaha. Okay sorry back to the main characters. Their stories entwine with Zander and Kate (Hilarious meeting there! So totally have to read for that). Plus you meet Rico and Helen. I have to say I'd love more from them as well.
Having read everyone of BJ's books, her growth is undeniable. The strength in her writing is phenomenal and I can't wait to read more from her.  The hottness level in the book is pretty damn high. You have been warned. All I can say is Sean could spank me any time he had the itch. I'd gladly take a few on the @$$ for that man LMAO!!! Job well done BJ!!!

Ok so let me start out by saying I have been waiting for this book to come out and honestly this is the best in the series, now don't get me wrong I loved the others but this one takes the cake.

So it's confession time I really never liked Sean in the first books.  Yes he's a Dom and not saying I don't like Doms because lord only knows I do but he just never did anything for me.  OMG in this book Sean has been made me want to find him and jump his bones ( side note I really wish he was real because I would cuff him to my bed and never let him out of my sight or maybe the other way around which ever I'll take it) he is my new very worthy BBF. He had come alive in this book more ways than one he is really that good.

Sammy ( Sam, Samantha) Sean calls her Sammy he can call me Sammy too if he wanted but that's another story.  Yes she is a hard core "ice queen" but once she lets her true self show she is also funny, cute and loving person.  She's a cop you have to be hard or you get walked all over.  Thing about Sammy is that when she is out of here uniform she is a sexy blonde that knows how to carry herself and look good in anything she wears. She also doesn't want a full time man because it would interfere with her work and that's what comes first she more the type that likes a friend with benefits type of girl.  The reason being she had a love long time ago and from that point it kind of broke her.

It's funny how fate sometimes comes back to give people second chances, sometimes even more just to get it right.  This book proves it in so many ways.  It was really wonderful how it explained how everything happen and why.. It also shows true friendship and even people who might not be true blood family still can qualify as family.

Now I know the question is are they going to go all in, well you just have to read to find out .  I can tell you this not any hard core dom or sub thing but it's really hot enough you will need a change in panties so you been warned. Maybe a little spanking too just put it this way it's not a book to pass up AT ALL so go one click now.

REVIEW

Normally I do not post ratings with my reviews, but this book definitely deserve a full five stars and then some. This book will make you look at life a bit differently, through your heart instead of your brain.

When I first saw this book, I thought it might be the book to break my slump. Then life interferes, but I found the time and boy am I glad I did. This book did cure my slump, but created another problem all its own. I'm trying my hardest to push this book from my mind, in short I have a MAJOR book hangover! LOL

This book is hard to review and honestly it's not because there were not good things because there was some AMAZING things, but because of the uniqueness of this story I fear of spoiling one of the mysteries it holds. 

Veronica and Dimitri are one of the most amazing strong and well written couples I've read. Though the book takes place in high school neither are their age emotionally. Their emotions, functions, thoughts are all beyond their years. I also have to say that the supporting characters were just as strong as they were which really pulled me into the book more.

The tears, the laughter, the pain, this book holds every emotion all wrapped around a love bigger than Veronica could ever imagine. There are typical issues that all high school students are presented with, but there are other underlining issues that make this story so unique and intriguing. The heartache that she has to go through before she realizes that sometimes your brain misses out on the obvious things your heart already understands.

The growth of each of the characters (not just the main ones) shows the understanding the author has of her characters. They all developed and grew at different stages which sets the story up as more life like because not all of us mature at the same rate.

This book is definitely one that will stick with me for a while. It has changed the way I see the obvious and look deeper to see what could be lying beneath the surface of each decision I make. I can't wait to read more from this author! 

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Just be prepared to lose your heart...

Review: Impulses by V. L. Brock

So I had the wonderful pleasure of getting an ARC of Impluses by VL. Brock of her debut and this is my long over due review.  First I would like to say for a first book she knocked it out the box. It had everything that you can want in a book plus some.

Meet Samantha A.K.A Sam who you can say made some wrong choices in her life after a relationship she thought she was in love but the man she was with belittled her cheated and broke her heart so after that she was done with relationships not to turn back down that road ever again.  She started living her life in a wild way by having many one night stands with many different men for the next five years that she would meet in clubs and bars and never look back. Until one day she goes for a job interview and meets Hayden Wentworth of Wentworth & Associates Law Firm.

Meet my Hayden (swoon) so OMG he is the most kindest, patient and lovable man ever.  Now don't get me wrong he himself has also been in a trying relationship that pretty much took a toll on him and the people surrounding him in his circle.  Once the story starts unfolding you may want to take Addison ( Hayden's ex) to a back alley and do some damage she is that vindictive.  Now you are going to have to read the book to find out why.  Ok back to Hayden he owns a Law firm he's tall has a hot body and chocolate brown eyes to die for now if that dose t scream new book boyfriend than I don't know what else you can be looking for.

Sam with her demons of her past is very doubtful of ever having a serious relationship and seems that if something seems off her impulse is to get out of quickly and not look back.  Where Hayden believes that you have to work on a relationship and go through your trials and errors especially if you love someone and need to prove your love to them and make them believe that they are not the person that was with you before.

Impulses will have you on a roller coaster ride of a relationship but it will make you realize that if you work hard enough on something you believe in it's worth it.  Even though some of your impulses maybe wrong you have to be truthful to yourself and your partner to make it work.  it also shows you how to two broken hearts can be mended back together once you find the one who completes you.

V.L. Brock really did an outstanding job and left a lasting impression with me I can't wait to read more from this author  in the future.

Kia's Review:

Alluring Ties by Skye Turner was a wonderful compliment to Alluring Seduction and Alluring Turmoil. Even though this book is a 2.5 in the series it is packed full with a lot Alluring things that book 1&2 you might of felt well why is Erik like this and why is Bradi such a crazy out going girl.  Well you will find out in this book. It only took me a day to read so that was even better and as always Skye knows how to make you laugh and yell at your Kindle like you belong in a ward somewhere with a stray jacket ( well at least those are looks I got in Starbucks while I was reading) LOL.


Anyway I knew going in it was going to be Erik and Bradi story but what I didn't think was going to be so detailed.  The title really sums it up Alluring Ties tied everything up from books 1&2 everything really came into focus.  You really got to know Bradi better and how Micah and got together and what really went down in there relationship.  You can also see all the of Bradi's craziness and fun person she is and why.  Erik well we all know how good he looks but damn I really wish he wasn't gay because he is such a man you want to bring home to mama but I'm goof with him being a friend and you will see how devoted a friend he is and what his relationship struggles he had before he met Alec.

Now when you start this story it backs to when they all meet and how they all became good friends Erik, Micah, Bradi and yes Lexi is even in it to (gotta love love Lexi she is a firecracker). I loved that this story carried you thru the time they met to the present.  With the dual POV of both Erik and Bradi it made it that much better.  Oh did I mention some M/M sex and yes it's HOT.  Now don't worry there some regular knocking boots but the M/M she's makes it that much HOTTER <3 .

The Review

I found this book through another blog, Indie Review Center, and was intrigued by the book video that was made for it...

So as I started this video, my mind kept wandering back to the video as the characters came into play.  I think I picture them slightly differently but I suppose that is what makes us 'like' different book or people. We all view book people differently. I'll post my dream cast...

Okay, now having done that. This is a debut novel by Laura Brown. It was a very sweet read. Now, I love my raunchy Christian Grey and Gideon Cross (-Has anyone ever noticed that their initials are switched?  CG and GC LOL kind of funny LOL) kind of reads, but occasionally reading a book that is not so detailed or even explained at all is nice to break up the heat.

This is a YA Contemporary Romance. There are implications of sex, but no actual scenes. The story is about Lila having to come to terms with her true feelings even when everyone else sees it she doesn't.  

Nate has loved her for 3 years but because he's dealing with his own turmoil, he never makes a move on it. Longing and misery lead Nate into a dark stage, into a depression. You really feel for him. I liked him the minute he entered, even if he was a grumpy gloomy guss.

Now Bryce, I'm torn on him. At first I didn't like him because I really like Nate. Here Bryce is getting Lila and Nate's breaking down...

"It is. I will spend my thirtieth birthday watching the love of my life fall for some other man." ~Nate~

Okay so I understand that it isn't Bryce's fault that Nate wouldn't get off his ass and say something, but still.

Bryce and Lila have been friends since they were 5 years old. Only things have changed between them. They start to see them for the better part of 20 years. Bryce is a good guy and I did have sympathy for him in the book just wanted Nate and Lila together not him and her. LOL!

So with meddling friends (and students) how does the story pan out? With a shit ton of backfire. I really can't say much more beyond that or it will give too much away. If you are looking for a light read, full of love and turmoil. Then you should pick up this book. Nicely done for a debut novel. I wish the author all the best in her future books. I will definitely be looking for more from her.
