About the Author

AJ Harmon was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. She currently resides in Oregon, USA, with her husband Brad. They have two grown children, her pride and joy, and a dog named Max.

An avid reader of the Romance genre, the books in her personal library range from historical to erotica and everything in between. “I love reading a sweet romance set in the English Regency period where men were gentlemen and the women pretended to be naïve. But sometimes you just need a hot sexy romance to cap off a long week,” she smiled. The bookshelves in her home are filled with a variety of authors and she is humbled to now be among their ranks. 

AJ is a new author, finding her passion in writing after her children had left home, leaving her and her husband empty-nesters. The Review

I found this book through another blog, Indie Review Center, and was intrigued by the book video that was made for it...

So as I started this video, my mind kept wandering back to the video as the characters came into play.  I think I picture them slightly differently but I suppose that is what makes us 'like' different book or people. We all view book people differently. I'll post my dream cast...

Okay, now having done that. This is a debut novel by Laura Brown. It was a very sweet read. Now, I love my raunchy Christian Grey and Gideon Cross (-Has anyone ever noticed that their initials are switched?  CG and GC LOL kind of funny LOL) kind of reads, but occasionally reading a book that is not so detailed or even explained at all is nice to break up the heat.

This is a YA Contemporary Romance. There are implications of sex, but no actual scenes. The story is about Lila having to come to terms with her true feelings even when everyone else sees it she doesn't.  

Nate has loved her for 3 years but because he's dealing with his own turmoil, he never makes a move on it. Longing and misery lead Nate into a dark stage, into a depression. You really feel for him. I liked him the minute he entered, even if he was a grumpy gloomy guss.

Now Bryce, I'm torn on him. At first I didn't like him because I really like Nate. Here Bryce is getting Lila and Nate's breaking down...

"It is. I will spend my thirtieth birthday watching the love of my life fall for some other man." ~Nate~

Okay so I understand that it isn't Bryce's fault that Nate wouldn't get off his ass and say something, but still.

Bryce and Lila have been friends since they were 5 years old. Only things have changed between them. They start to see them for the better part of 20 years. Bryce is a good guy and I did have sympathy for him in the book just wanted Nate and Lila together not him and her. LOL!

So with meddling friends (and students) how does the story pan out? With a shit ton of backfire. I really can't say much more beyond that or it will give too much away. If you are looking for a light read, full of love and turmoil. Then you should pick up this book. Nicely done for a debut novel. I wish the author all the best in her future books. I will definitely be looking for more from her.

My Review

You know I'm finding it harder and harder to find new ways to say how much I love Lexi Buchanan! With every book I have read by her I am immediately pulled in and fall over her men from tripping on my tongue. Spicy was definitely no different.

Reece is trying to forget Callie. Callie is trying to move on and maybe rub it in. The thing is it is harder to move past something when you can't quit thinking about it. Both Reece and Callie have to come to terms and make a decision on whether to resist what they can't forget or give in and realize that sometimes we just can't control everything.

Reece is just what I expect from Mrs. Buchanan. He's HAWT spicy, wish he was yours, tough but with a tender side.

Callie is strong, beautiful and lovable. You can easily put yourself in her place.

As with all her books, you are taken on a journey, ups and downs and twists and turns. In Spicy they go from denial to love and all the emotions in between. I can't express how much I truly loved this story. I can't wait to read more from this author. Sitting on the edge of my seat for more of my favorite bad boys...Who's with me????

“I can’t do this, Hayden.” With a faint shake of my head, I slip my hand from under his.

“––Running. Fear is what keeps you running. Dammit, Samantha,” he barks and the cutlery jingles and rattles against the china of the plates as he slams his hands down on the table in irritation.
Seeing this insistent, demanding side to him is doing absolutely nothing for defense. It just makes me want to pin him up against the booth, straddle his hips and force my tongue into his mouth to shut him up.

“I know fear––trust me, I really do. I stared it in the face the day you walked through my office doors, the first contact when you shook my hand. I felt that fear last night. My God, I’m feeling it right now. But I’m not running from it, because it is you. I am running towards my fear, Samantha…I’m running towards you.”

“Regardless, of fear and revelation, of going against your psychological defenses, Hayden––I just can’t. You are too much of a nice guy for me to tangle you up in the fuck-up web that is my life. I can’t hurt you like that…and I will not hurt you like that.” I recover my clutch purse that rests to my left on the pew and begin slipping myself out of the booth. “I’m sorry, Hayden. Thank you…for everything.” I push past the lump in my throat, and brusquely nod my appreciation for the chance that he gave me at work, for the flowers, and in all honesty, just for him being a genuinely charming, gorgeous, generous, and considerate man.

His mouth has fallen open in bewilderment and he looks on with hooded eyes. With every nuance of strength I have, I direct it solely on fighting the part of me that actually wants to stay, the part that wants to face that fear and walk towards the hot, entrancing flames of the fire in hope that I won’t get burned. But that’s just sheer naivety.

With the hefty sphere of reluctance forming in my chest, I will myself to pull my gaze away and flee from the booth, from the restaurant––from Hayden, not daring to even glance back, in fear of destroying us both, if I did.

Review:

First off can I say Skye Turner you did it again.  I know it's winter right now but while you read this it will feel like its mid summer this book is so hot.  There s no wonder she makes a disclaimer about having an extra set of panties and a vibrator available, you will need both.  Oh yeah and a fan to cool yourself off.

Just when I thought Jude was hot from book one Alluring Turmoil, here comes "Jesse Adams".  let me tell you HOT, HOT, HOT, did I say HOT. Ok you get it.

Jesse is the lead guitarist in one hot rock band called Bayou Six .  He does play his part as a "manwhore" don't get me wrong am all for a man who loves women but Jesse is a real manwhore loves and leaves them in one night never to look back again but then again can you blame him these groupies just give it up like its nothing.  Oh did I mention that he is well "hung" like really hung we are talking salami here hung.  Even though he is a "well hung manwhore" he has a heart of gold and when you learn more about him he comes out being a really sweet guy.

Now meet Blue.  If I was a male I think I would be all over her in a heartbeat she is one HOT female.  Blue eyes, dark short hair and a curvy body that any women would die for. She is the lead reporter for Rock Hard magazine and has known this band for about 8 years now and on tour for the past 8 weeks with the band for the magazine. She also stands her ground and will put in your place in a matter of minutes she is not to be reckoned with.

Jesse and Blue have a love hate relationship more hate than love that is.  Now if you read book one which I know everyone did right ;) Blue is good friends with Jude (lead singer of Bayou Six) and the rest of the band Liam, Crux, and Dade.  Jesse not so much all they do is get in each others face and fight all the time.  Now you will see the rest of the gang Lexi, Brandi, Erik, Micah and Alec.  You also get to witness the growing friendship that Blue has with the girls something she never had before actual girlfriends.  

I loved the dual POV because you get both sides of the story and you get to understand that much more about why Jesse and Blue are the way they are towards each other and to others.

Now wait didn't I say they had a love hate relationship lets just say they did some exploring after both of them got there heads out of their "asses" and try to explore and relationship to "get to know each other better". Well let's just say when you have Blues' 8 years of built up feeling for Jesse and Jesse not being able to keep his "salami" down while Blue is around and struggling to understand what exactly he is feeling lets just say there is so much lust, anger, protectiveness, jealous land much more going on it all combust when the do get a chance at one another it is off the charts HOT.  If I was a fly on the wall I would make sure I had a chair and some popcorn to watch the show oh and maybe a vibrator too ;).  There is so much "combusting" going on with them you may combust right along with them.

Now I don't want to say to much but I love that get to see everyone e from book one again and you even get to see a little of Clove and if you read closely there is something going on with her I guess we will find out in the next book Clove & Liam story.  Holy hotness I can't wait for that because I gave my own thoughts about what's going to happen in that one.

My Review:

Okay so I freaking love Belle Aurora! She is one of my favorite authors. (Please remember that as I go through my review...seriously you'll see why...Remember!) She has a writing style that can just pull you in the story and hold you there even if the character is doing something so mundane. You feel their every emotions and crave their happiness as you would your own. When I read her first book and I was hooked. She's like a good drug. Knows how to make you laugh with words when all you want to do is cry. I just simply love that about her books...

Okay so that was until this book.  Was I ready for Twitch? Abso-fucking-lutely NOT! Okay now before you jump on my case here.  I wasn't ready for it. (Even though she gave fair freaking warning in the blurb) I just wasn't ready for it.

Okay before you completely flip out on me...

I FREAKING LOVED this book!

However, I loved this book for different reasons than I love her other books. Her other books are just so light and hilarious, but with enough angst to get you breaking up in pieces for the characters. This book however is NOT light that I was accustomed to. It was still an amazing book. 

I have this vision of Belle sitting down at her computer with the thought of this book in her mind trying to think of a title for it.  I picture her tapping her lip with her finger, her lips pursed and looking up at the ceiling. Then I picture her get the most evil smile on her face as she types three letters.

Well if there was ever a title to let you know how you'd be AFTER reading the book. This was definitely it! I can't remember how many times I found myself holding my breath, crying, screaming. I believe when I was finished with the book, I sent Belle a message that made her laugh hahaha. 

My husband even tried to talk to me about something (hell if I know what he was talking about I was freaking reading!) and I may have agreed to something I didn't want to do.  What might you ask? Shoveling DAMN snow! But anyway....

This book completely gutted me and it left me (for lack of a better word) RAW. The way he, and then she, and he... Hell I want to say so much but I'm so afraid of ruining the damn story for someone else. *sigh*

Okay here are my recommendation answers: :D

Who should read this?  Anyone with eyes! (and of course over the age of 18)

Any warnings? This is different from her other works...be prepared for just about anything.

Side notes: Tissues are a must. A nonpublic read, you will be vocal with it (I was). 

Please remember it is not your e-readers fault and cannot change the course of the book. :P

Belle Aurora: You cease to amaze me with the stories you come with and the characters you give us to fall in love with (even in RAW). Thank you so much for taking the time to sit down at your computer and type these out. They truly are a joy to read even if I wasn't exactly happy with you in the end of RAW hahaha. <3 font="" hugs="" nbsp="">
