Okay for “Love Thy Neighbor”, we are doing a little something different for the review.  Usually it is just one of us writing out a review for each book, but this particular book two of us read at the same time and we are combining our reviews.  This should be rather interesting hehehehe.

This is the second book in the “Friend-Zoned” series by Belle Aurora and she did not disappoint.  Belle had you laughing, tearing up, screaming and anticipating.  “Love Thy Neighbor” is Nat and Ghost’s story.  I have been dying to read about Ghost and OMG!!!!  She broke my heart with him in some areas.

OMG. Oh. My. Fecking. God. Belle you did it again with friend zone 2 (love thy neighbor).  This is a must read if you don't buy this book you are missing out.

When I opened up with book to start reading, I had a level of greatness I had in mind for author Belle Aurora to measure up to.  She did not disappoint me.  “Friend-Zoned” was hilarious and touching and just simply a GREAT read!  I expected nothing less with the second book.  She not only gave a better story but even hotter (I know hard to believe but it was :P).  Ghost and Nat’s story could be read on its own, but Nik and Tina’s story continue in this book as well.  However if you haven’t read “Friend-Zoned”, I have to say you are crazy!  READ IT!!!  You can fall in love with Ghost before reading about him in “Love Thy Neighbor”… To say that Asher “Ghost” and Natalie “Nat” relationship is strained at best would be an understatement.  They have a hot moment and neither know how to proceed because each think the other is not interested.  Then a guy a named Cole comes along as Nat decides to try and get Ghost out of her system.  However there is more than meets the eye with Cole.  Paper thin walls lead to awkward moments and eventually an agreement that sets their ‘friendship’ on a new axle.

Natalie is strong, independent, and feisty to say the least.  She has no problem stating what’s on her mind and standing up for those that she loves.  However, when it comes to herself, she just prefers to keep quiet and never let anyone see her weak.

Asher “Ghost, Ash, Casper” is reserved to say the least.  He talks little, but sees everything.  He has a past and struggles to live with it every day.  He promised to keep all at bay and never get attached to anyone.  Then a sassy and strong woman comes into his world and begins to change things.

Their journey from current to future is rough and hard, but honest you expect no less than with them.  They didn’t get their demeanors because everything has been perfect for them.  I will say I was SHOCKED by what Ghost held close to his chest.  Actually I was floored and my heart broke for him.

It is a wild and unforgettable ride.  I look forward to seeing more of them in the future books and more importantly the rest of the crew.  (Side note: I loved seeing what life was like for Nik and Tina! *sigh*)

Now just so you know if you didn't read Friend Zoned 1 I would highly recommend you do.  she explains things over in the beginning of the book which I thought was awesome for reader who might not have read the frist book.  If you didn't read the first book you must be from another planet because that was as hot as this one and your missing out.  Belle pulls you in with her characters and makes you understand them and feel you are there with them. I love that in Love Thy Neighbor all the characters from book one are there and funnier than ever. Ghost and Nat have a complicated friendship if you can even say that. It's one of those love hate friendships which seems like more hate then love for each other most of the time.  In book one they kinda had a HOT and steamy one night stand which in book two is now about a year later and they both can’t stop thinking about that one night they had together.  You will also meet someone new Cole he's hot as all get out, but what he does, well I'll let you be the judge of that.

Let’s begin with Nat.  She is one sassy, feisty, loving and a total bitch when she wants to be.   you will so hate her but love her at the same time.  She knows how to make your blood boil especially Ghost but you still have to give her credit when credit is do.  Nat is a friend that you want by your side no matter what.

Asher A.K.A. Ghost.  Hollysh*t balls he's hot.  I was swooning the whole time reading this.  Yes he has flaws, he doesn't understand certain things but my god he tries.  So there is nothing you can do but fall in love with him.

Anyway back to Ghost yes Ash, Asher, Casper I don't care what he is called he's HOT. I wanted to know about him since FZ1 because I really didn't take to him and now just love him.  You get such a better understanding of him in this book and can I say hearing his story broke my heart.  You will understand him and feel what he went through to get to where he is today and why he acts the way he does.  You also learn more about Nat and why she acts the way she does towards Ghost and learn about her back ground and how she was brought up.  You also get to meet Nats family which was awesome because her sisters are just as crazy and funny as her.

In a nut shell just go get the book it's hard to say without giving away spoilers to you but this is one of the most awesome books that I have read this year. Defiantly on my top 5 books of the year so far. Believe me there were times I was cursing at both Nat and Ghost laughing with them and crying with them.  This book puts you on an emotional roller coaster that will have you in shock by the time it's over.  So enjoy the fecking ride and go get the book.

I met Samantha Fontien at the beginning of my journey as an author.  She welcomed me and offered help right off the bat.  I think that there was a sense of understanding that brought us together.  She would send me a snippet every now and again for her book and I was intrigued and anxiously waiting for the release.  

Miles Apart Books was lucky enough to be a part of her tour when she released.  I received her ARC and read it in a matter of hours.  She waited on pins and needles for my review.  I had it completed and ready WAY ahead of schedule.  I gladly sent her the review ahead of time and let her see what I thought of it.

My review for How to Catch Butterflies by Samantha Fontien

A sistership forged between us as the time passed and I was lucky enough to be able to walk along side of her as she released her first book.  As she sales started going up and her joys (and even some of the lows) started pouring in, I was lucky enough to experience it with her. Today I am closing out her Blitz tour with a VERY special and only her video for How to Catch Butterflies.  

*Special Note for Sam*  In all my years, I have crossed paths with many people; both good and bad.  Never have I crossed someone that was so geniune, caring and talented as you.  I am truly honored to have you a part of my life.  Your book is nothing short of amazing and book 2 will be even better.  You deserve all the success coming to you.  Thank you for sharing yourself and your book. “Morning ladies,” he smiled as he leaned down kissing Rebecca then taking a seat on the other lounger. Rebecca sat in the middle like a sandwich. Lucy could only look at Rebecca, her hand fanning her face as she mouthed ‘wow’.
“Yep, Hunky Harvey is 'hot' like the sun” she whispered to Rebecca out of the corner of her mouth. 
As Rebecca shhh’d her, he stood up and walked to the pool.
“You coming in,” he asked looking directly at Rebecca with one of his smoldering smiles and he dove into the pool. 
While he was submersed under the water all Lucy could say was,
“Sweet tap dancing babies! Oh My God Rebecca he is f**king hot!” as Jackson arose out of the water as if he were in an aftershave commercial. 
“I’m going back to the villa to wake Chris up and get me some. If I was you, I’d get the hell in that pool right now with him and while you’re at it, get yourself some too. God, what I wouldn't do to that man.” Lucy stood up. “I’ll see you two up at the house for breakfast at ten yes?” and she was gone.

Rebecca was walking out across the lobby of yet another Hotel. Her evening meeting had gone on way longer than she expected. She had just stepped out from the revolving doors when she saw him there, standing against one of the huge grey limestone pillars.
She tried to pretend that she didn't see him as she stared blankly making her way in the direction of the tube.
”Don’t pretend you don't see me Rebecca” he said walking parallel to her,
“Why Jackson Harvey, what are you doing here?” she teased,

“What’s so important that you’re here? ….Do you have any news for me?”
She had stopped now and was looking directly at him,
“Well actually I do have news, and seeing that’s it’s so late, I was wondering if you would like dinner?”
He was looking at her with his charming smile and was surprised at her answer he raised an eyebrow
“Actually Jackson I can’t, I have plans already” the confidence oozing from her.
He was taken aback, dinner normally worked
“Well let me drive you to wherever you’re going and we can talk on the way?”
She stood there looking at the well-dressed thirty-four year old attractive man before her, Lucy was right he was yum on a stick, but he had a reputation for being a bit of a man-whore....

I’m a happily married mum of 2. I’m a West London girl, and I’ve just recently moved back from London to Ireland, where I now live in the countryside. I’ve always written, mainly short stories, but ‘How to catch Butterflies’ is my first book. I’ve had a passion for writing since a very young age.  I find a story in every situation, and like real life there isn't always a Happily Ever After. There’s lots of me in my writing, I tend to write about my own life experiences or something based on a situation. My parents were both musicians, I’m a classically trained guitarist myself (at their insistence, and not my choice of instrument, I wanted to play the drums), so I have a real burning passion for music. While talking to her sister on the phone she watches a, denim and leather clad, guy dismount his Harley and move in next door. Unbeknown to Mack, he’s Jacob’s thirty-two year old grandson, Dean, who has come to Cape Elizabeth to find out why she wants to talk to his grandfather about a diary and to make sure she isn’t after his grandfather’s money.

Within an hour of actually meeting, Dean has his hands on her legs, although due to spilled coffee, he discovers he can’t stop touching her. Dean was only too glad to escape to Cape Elizabeth, away from his mother, who wants him to be married to Cynthia, her friend’s daughter, who he has no interest in.

Together Mack and Dean try to unravel the mystery of what actually happened to Rose in 1947.

Thomas Degan the owner of Rose Cottage is a loveable eighty year old man who befriends Lucas, taking him fishing and spends time with him reading ‘Our Gang’ Comics.

All these characters come together in a story of loss, love and friendship.

My Review:

So to start, I absolutely love a good romance book, even the ones that leave me hanging over several books (I still get mad though, but I love them).  The thing I found MOST enjoying about "Rose" is that there was not one love story, but two.  Neither fall flat, both are HOT and so damn heart-achingly sweet.  At first when I realized that the diary was actually being played out, I was skeptical but am so glad that it was and it played out so well.

Okay before I go too much further in my review.  I want you to meet the characters as I saw them....well Mack and Dean anyway :P


MEET MACK....

She's a school teacher that takes her six year old nephew on vacation with her while her sister and brother-n-law head off to tour Europe.  She takes him up to Maine from Boston where she rents a place called "Rose Cottage".


MEET DEAN......

Dean is the grandson of Jacob's.  He travels up to Maine to "Rose Cottage" to find out why this mystery woman wants to talk to his grandfather.  Little did he know this investigative trip would change his life.


So, the book starts out with her driving up with her nephew Lucas.  Lucas is a riot through the whole book.  He is your typical six year old that repeats everything he hears...even if he shouldn't  LMAO!!!

"But daddy told mommy that she would learn a lot if she read the type of books you read, instead of her boring magazines.  I like to learn,".... ~Lucas~

"Auntie Mack, it's the very hot guy with the gorgeous butt you want to get your hands on,".... ~Lucas~

As you can see, Lucas is a riot.  He has you laughing constantly throughout the book.  As does Thomas, the owner of "Rose Cottage" and new friend of Mack and Lucas'.  I absolutely loved Lucas and Thomas together.  Which is funny because Thomas is 80 an the two of them are like two peas in a pod. Hahaha!  As a mom of three, I know these kind of antics and no filter on the words coming out of their mouths all too well.  It was great!

The diary (which is Jacob and Rose's love story) was picturesque of love at first sight.  However Rose suffered from an overbearing meddling father who though of himself only nothing more.  (I'm still angry about the shit he pulled on his own kids and wife UGH!)

Then when Dean enters the picture and things start boiling for him and Mack...You pull for them, swoon over him, and cheer for her.  I instantly liked Dean.  Though he wen there on investigative purposes and he lied about who he was....He really was a likable...No lovable guy.  I like him.  The heat between them you could feel jumping off the pages as their eyes met for the first time.  

"Hey, not funny.  He can get his own girl.  You're mine."  Dean pulled Mack back into his arms, laughing.
Suddenly, she was all serious and looked up at Dean.  "Am I really?"
Dean stopped laughing and caressed Mack's face.  He pushed hair back from her forehead.  "I've never felt like this before, but yes, you are."  He placed a lingering kiss to her lips.
"Auntie Mack, are you making breakfast?"
Thomas chuckled.  "I think she wants to be making something else, buddy."

I absolutely LOVED that part.  Thomas and Lucas really never ceased to make me laugh aside from when Thomas made me cry (my heart broke for him).  There is also this dinner party.  I was laughing my ass off!!!  Won't go into detail on that, but boy howdy LMAO!!!!  HILARIOUS!!

This story was good start to finish.  The story was very well written and strong character development.  I truly felt a part of it and bawled my eyes out some of the pain they experienced.  I cannot say again how much I loved this book.  

IT IS A DEFINITE AND MUST READ!!!

My Review:

All right fellow book lovers, I feel safe saying this with you all...I am addicted to Kaylie Newell right now.  At this moment, there isn't enough of her books out there right now LOL.  The way she's able to pull you into the character without even realizing is what I love the most.  Her stories are based on emotions more than anything.  Due to that she is able to make you cry, laugh, scream, nervous, and all of it!

Right okay I need to get on with my review of this book specifically right? LMAO!!!  Well first lets meet the characters as I see them :)

Meet Jessica Brady.....

Jessica has a famous father who could really give 2 shits about her at all.  She has spent her whole life trying to get out from under her father's name and make one of her own.  Her mother was too busy with the boyfriend of the month to pay much attention to her.  Now her hair in the book is shorter than this, but its how I see her.  

The book starts off with her being kidnapped for ransom against her father.  Little did she know she would be brought face to face with the man of her dreams and a second so unlikely savior.

Meet Ian (Fitz) Cole.......

This is Tommy Fitzgerald.  

He is helping the Mancini family with their dog fighting ring....Yes I said dog fighting ring.  However, he becomes the babysitter of the new captive Jessica Brady.  He wants to tell Jessica that he's not like them at all, but afraid that in a moment of terror she'd let it slip who he was and he couldn't take the chance of 6 months of undercover work to go down the drain.  

This is Ian Cole AFTER the undercover work.

There's just no denying this man is sex on legs.  He protected Jessica during her captive moments and he can't seem to forget her since.  He's not the commitment kind.  Never stayed with one woman long.  He loved his job.

This is Bruta....

He is the main dog that the evil Mancini family uses to fight.  This story broke my damn heart.  I am an animal lover and this story just shows how sick some human beings are!!

I want to take a moment and note one of the spectacular things this book is doing that has nothing to do with my review.....

 I strongly believe in the cause.  My street is off a highway in the country.  Our road is known as the dumping ground for unwanted animals.  Anyway, we took in an American Pitbull that was extremely skinny and injured.  We nursed him and searched for a new home.  Though we couldn't afford him at the time we didn't want to see him go back to what he just came from.  So after a few months of searching we found him a GREAT home.  Last we heard he was doing amazing and fit in with the other dogs just fine.

Okay now that I have made sure that was seen, I will return to my review.

This book though covers a SERIOUS topic had some great funny bits to it.  This was one of my favorite parts and I am still laughing as I type it.

"Um, reflecting on pleasant memories is one.  Its called the erection method."

He shot her a look.

"Oh my God.  The Reflection method"

"Sounds interesting.  I'll definitely have to try it sometime."

She is trying to explain ways for him to not be so serious all the time and well you can see what her slip up was.  I just died laughing!!!

Now I won't put into words, but I have to say....Chapter 5 the way it ended LMAO!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!!!

She gave him a mock salute. “Ten-four, Detective.”

“I’m not a truck driver. I’m a cop. It’s copy that.”

Smiling, she bent to put on Bruta’s leash. “Affirmative.”

Its just their banter that they have going back and forth that catches you.  The section of above cracked me up.  I loved it.  It kind of becomes their little moment throughout the book. 

The chemistry between the characters is strong and you think that once the bust happens the run off frolicking in the meadow happily ever after....Well you'd be wrong.  Neither want to admit their feelings....

This story is simply amazing and I expected nothing less from Kaylie Newell.

Mrs. Newell, I have to say again what an amazing job you have done on this book.  I cannot tell you enough how much I love your work and your ability to make the reader feel a part of the story...no not just part of the story that's wrong.  You make, me the reader, feel like it IS my story.  That takes talent you have it in abundance.  Thank you so much for all you have done!! Truly!  You are amazing!

This book is a MUST and DEFINITE read!!!
